Facial lipofilling” refers to a cosmetic surgery procedure also known as facial fat grafting or facial fat transfer. It involves removing fat from a part of the body, usually by liposuction, and then injecting it into the face to increase volume and restore a more youthful appearance. This procedure is often combined with a facelift.

Here is a general overview of the procedure:

Consultation: The process begins with a consultation with a plastic surgeon. During this consultation, the surgeon will evaluate your facial structure, discuss your goals, and determine if you are an appropriate candidate for the procedure.

Preparation: Before the procedure, the surgeon will identify the donor site (usually areas with excess fat, such as the abdomen or thighs) for liposuction.

Liposuction: A small amount of fat is removed from the donor site using liposuction.

Processing: The harvested fat is then processed to remove impurities and excess liquid.

Injection: Purified fat is injected into specific areas of the face where volume is needed. Common areas include the cheeks, temples, jawline and under the eyes.

This procedure lasts on average 45 to 60 minutes, under general anesthesia, it can be done on an outpatient basis or require 24 hours of hospitalization.

Recovery: The recovery period varies from person to person, but patients can generally expect some swelling and bruising. Most people are able to return to normal activities within a week.

Results: Over time, the transplanted fat establishes a blood supply and becomes a permanent part of the facial tissues. Results are generally long-lasting, although some degree of fat absorption may occur.

It is important to note that although facial lipofilling can provide natural-looking results, the success of the procedure depends on various factors, including, the patient’s anatomy and post-operative care and weight variations.
