TYPES OF WRINKLES
Botulinum toxin injections (Botox, Dysport) are used in aesthetic medicine to reduce expression lines and give the face a more youthful appearance.
There are many different types of wrinkle, and treatment differs according to the mechanism responsible for their formation.
Your consultation will help you determine the best treatment for your needs:
- Smoothing wrinkles: Laser, peels, dermabrasions
- Lift sagging wrinkles with various types of facelifts.
- Filling wrinkles with fat: lipostructure or dermal fillers (AHA hyaluronic acid injections).
Botox injections are suitable for anyone, male or female, who is bothered by the appearance of certain wrinkles caused by repeated contractions of certain muscles:
- Lion’s wrinkles (between eyebrows) or glabellar lines
- Crow’s feet (on the side of the eyes).
- Forehead wrinkles
- Botox can also be used to lift the eyebrows and open up the eyes.
- It can also be used to block the peaucier muscle in the neck, which is responsible for unsightly neck cords (under the chin to the décolleté).

The procedure takes place in the consulting room, depending on the indications, without anesthesia or under contact anesthesia (EMLA cream). The injections are performed by the plastic surgeon, and the result is visible from the 5-10th day, although there may be some redness and swelling in the injected areas for a few hours. Normal activities can be resumed immediately. Sports activities and exposure to heat should be avoided for a week.
A follow-up visit is carried out on the 15th day.
Botox never creates volume, and results are discreet and natural. Applied to the areas responsible for wrinkles, and in carefully controlled doses, these injections do not freeze the face or the look.
Depending on the patient, the type of product and its concentration, results can last from 6 months to a year.
