PRESENTATION OF LIPOSUCTION :

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure that removes excess fat from specific areas of the body, usually to improve body contours and proportions and thus the appearance of the body silhouette. This is not a method of weight loss or a substitute for a healthy lifestyle.

There are two types of fats: dietary fat that can respond to a well-conducted diet and sports activity, and a “familial” genetic fat that does not respond to this and whose only treatment is liposuction.

During liposuction, the surgeon uses a suction device to remove the fat under the skin. The procedure can be performed on different areas of the body, such as double chin, abdomen, hips, back, arms, thighs, knees, and sometimes calves.

The average duration of surgery is between 1 hour and 3 hours, depending on the areas to be treated.

The amount of fat removed should not exceed 8% of the body weight.

The procedure is followed by wearing a restraining garment on the treated areas (to be kept for 2 months).
Anticoagulant therapy is started postoperatively for a few days.
Lymphatic drainage is started on the 5th postop day.
Liposuction is often sought by people with localized fat deposits that are “steatomaceous” and resistant to diet and exercise.

It is important to note that liposuction has potential risks and complications, such as any surgical procedure. These may include infection, irregular contours, in rare cases, damage to underlying structures or organs.

Liposuction is not a solution for obesity, and candidates for The procedure should be in good overall health with a stable body weight. Results of liposuction can be long-lasting if people maintain a healthy lifestyle with appropriate nutrition and physical activity, which is always advisable after such surgery.
This type of intervention can be done alone or in combination with other interventions such as: lipofilling of the buttocks “bbl”, abdominal plasty…
A specific note for vaser liposuction: VASER technology: During the liposuction procedure, a special VASER ultrasonic probe is used to emit high-frequency sound waves. These waves break down fat cells without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Grease Emulsification: Ultrasonic energy helps to emulsify or transform solid fat into a liquid form, facilitating its extraction.

Less trauma: Compared with traditional liposuction, VASER liposuction tends to be less traumatic for surrounding tissues. This can lead to a faster recovery time and fewer bruises.

Body modeling: VASER liposuction is used not only to remove unwanted fat, but also to sculpt and shape the body’s contour. The surgeon can have more control over defining areas specific. However, not all patients are candidates for VASER liposuction. The surgeon assesses the patient’s general health, skin elasticity, and other considerations before recommending the procedure.
